A proud “Flower City” native, Erin Kae was born and raised outside of Rochester, New York and graduated from SUNY Geneseo in 2015 with a B.A. in English (creative writing) and a minor in Native American studies. A Pushcart Prize-nominated poet, Kae has had work published in literary journals such as such as Painted Bride Quarterly, Vinyl, Sonora Review, Crab Fat Magazine, and elsewhere.
Grasp This Salt, her first chapbook of poems, was named a semi-finalist for the Black Lawrence Press Black River Chapbook Competition as well as a finalist for The Comstock Review 2017 Jessie Bryce Niles Chapbook Contest, the Button Poetry 2017 Chapbook Contest, and the Iron Horse Review: 2018 Chapbook Competition.
Kae currently resides in Somerville, Massachusetts, where she works as a preschool teacher in the nearby city of Cambridge and splits her time writing both poetry and children’s literature. Apart from writing, she also enjoys reading, watching cartoons, and wishing she could eat breakfast food for every meal.
